Choosing the General Topic for Ad Income

Income derived from advertisement on a well-planned and well maintained site is one of the best methods for obtaining internet-based income. Tens of thousands of companies are willing to advertise on your website and some of them such as Google accumulate tens of thousands of ads and display only what is most appropriate for your website.

Since Google tries to match the conent of your website with the best possible advertisements through spidering and evaluating your website, it is wise to start your site or sites on those subjects that bring in top reveneues.

You must realize that just as different businesses bring in different levels of income, advertisements about them also bring in different amounts of revenue. Some will give you only 0.1 cent per click while others might give you $1 per click. Obviously, the second type of ad is preferrable on one's site.  A single click on the second one would produce what only one thousand clicks on the first one would bring you. The actual difference might even even more than this.

How To Maximize Revenue: If you have expertise in more than one subject, which everyone has whether they realize it or not, then you should choose the one which would bring you greater revenue. In fact, you should begin with sujects that are supposed to bring in good revenue, and then check whether you can manage one of them.

How To Find Subjects: There are numerous articles on the internet that will guide you about how to find the most expensive ad-words. So once you get interested in net-income through ads, the next thing you need to do is to locate the most paying words. Education, medicine, health, real estate, forex etc are some areas that are always in demand. But demand is not restricted to them, so do your search.

How To Narrow Down The subjects: Once you find the broad subects in which you are interested, go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and check to see the frequency with which the given words are used for search on the net.

For example, I love to write about India. So I searched for the word "India" on the above page, and found that the word was searched 11,100,000 times on Google last month. What is more, this page also shows numerous India-related words, all of which were searched hundreds of thousands of time via Google just the last month. Thus for an Indophile, establishing a blog on India is a great idea.

You need to select your subjects in this mannter. Give it a try right now as an exercise, even if the actual work you plan to do is far in future. This exercise will teach you a thing or two.

What Next: By this time you will have a reasonably good idea of the general area/s in which you can blog successfully.  (For income I strongly favour growing blogs over static websites). But it is not yet time to launch your blog. You first need to study the competition carefully and find your niche. There is no use launching another site if 1000 other outstanding sites are already there, for you will find it impossible to beat them for the top positions.

Within the subject area/s of your interest you need to locate those niches that are left untouched. Believe me, there are hundreds of such areas in every major subject. The moment you start blogging in those areas, you will get a good start in search engines with little competition.

Once you reach this stage, you are ready to launch your site. Persist and success will be yours.
